Five Clean Language Processes

Are you seeking to offer more effective and efficient coaching AND make your job easier? Discover easy-to-learn, easy-to-facilitate processes that:

  • Enhance your clients’ clarity and insight into any topic or issue

  • Empower your clients to discover for themselves what they need to know

  • Effectively keep you from unintentionally influencing your clients’ self-exploration

  • Engage your clients actively and creatively

  • Easily compliment other methods/approaches

Over the course of two days, we cover five script-based processes, developed by counseling and coaching innovator David Grove, that enable your clients to tap into their more ‘intuitive knowing’ and discover what they don't know they know

Each process capitalizes on the way we humans instinctively and effortlessly give space meaning. Just as you can imagine a real, physical space in your mind, you can reverse the process and project your inner world into the physical spaces around you. As you move among these spaces guided by Clean Language questions, the different perspectives the spaces offer can reveal surprising insights, as a deeper wisdom emerges.

With an introduction to emergence theory, real-time demonstrations, and opportunities for practice as both client and facilitator, you will leave ready to apply these five processes with your clients immediately!

This workshop is appropriate for facilitators at all levels of experience.

Facilitating self-exploration with Clean Language as your client draws

Clean Language is a game-changer. Using it with your clients will shift your paradigm about why and how people do what they do, what they need to do to change, and what your role in their process should be.

All you need to get started is some blank paper and a few markers. Ask clients to make a simple, stick-figure drawing of what they would like to have happen; the objects and symbols they depict will give you a window into their inner worlds. When you follow up with the right kind of questions, and you can rapidly facilitate greater clarity and, often, a profound inner shift.

When you ask ordinary (non Clean) questions of your clients as they draw, you are likely to interrupt their connection with their deeper knowing of their experience. Instead, they search their “in their head” awareness to answer you, which usually isn’t all that insightful as to what’s really going on. To get to a deeper truth, innovative psychotherapist and coach David Grove developed Clean Language; carefully worded questions using a client's exact words about their hidden inner metaphors to encourage solution-oriented self-exploration. Inner resources are strengthened, while blocks and maladaptive strategies are revealed and restructured.

In this two-day course, you will learn some of the basic Clean Language facilitation questions and specific strategies for directing your clients’ attention. For those of you new to Clean Language, it’s a great introduction. You will take away some powerfully effective ways to help clients access wisdom they didn’t even know they had--easily and early in their sessions-while keeping out your own biases by staying ‘clean’.

Appropriate for both new and experienced helping/healing professionals who work with any sort of client in one-on-one sessions. Clean Language enhances clarity and agenda-setting for practical projects, but it is unique in its effectiveness with clients seeking personal growth and development.
